TERMS & CONDITIONS
Who we are
Our website address is: https://socarhardware.com.
This website is owned and operated by Socar, a brand under Socar Hardware Solution. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we collect and use your personal data.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. After your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes publicly visible alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to our website (e.g., through comments or contact forms), please avoid uploading images that include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site may be able to extract this data from publicly visible images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are for your convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter your details the next time you leave a comment. These cookies will remain for one year.
If you visit our login page (if available), a temporary cookie will be set to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in (if user registration is enabled), we also set cookies to save your login information and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen preference cookies for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out will remove all login cookies.
If you edit or publish content (for admin users), an additional cookie will be saved in your browser that stores the post ID of the article edited. This cookie expires after 1 day and contains no personal data.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles or pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, maps, images, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the originating website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with their content — especially if you are logged in to those platforms.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset (on user accounts, if applicable), your IP address will be included in the reset email to help verify your identity.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely to allow automated approval of follow-up comments.
For registered users (if registration is enabled), we store the personal data they provide in their user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their information at any time (username changes may be restricted). Website administrators can also view and manage user data.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we delete your personal data, excluding any data we are legally or administratively required to retain.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at [email protected]
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service to ensure site safety and performance.
